For anyone new to me, or maybe you just don’t know this about me, but I am not an influencer (professionally). I always say I have influence by default not design. I remember hearing influence talked about this way years ago and really resonating with it and it stuck. However, as a side effect or by product of my work, I do often get approached for influencer-y things. Sometimes I say yes, but most of the time I say no. I only ever engage in a paid brand partnership if I truly like the brand and/or the product. It’s a weird thing to say this so plainly but I think one of my most valuable assets or traits is my integrity and I hold it in very high regard. I am constantly making sure I protect it. I say all of this because sometimes when I post things people (even friends) ask if I actually like the product, alluding to the fact that I might just be sharing it for a paycheck. My answer is always “if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t have agreed to talk about it” (!!!!).
I hate that this is no longer considered common or the standard, but alas it is simply just not the way I roll unfortunately. I say unfortunately in a silly way as I would have a lot more monies if I wasn’t this way but anyway! On to the goods in my cart!
The last two years I’ve been heavily on my uniform vibe.
I’ve posted about the cornerstones of my wardrobe before, but it’s crazy how much weight the white t-shirts in my closet carry. Especially as someone who has a closet filled with special pieces. A white t-shirt is almost always involved. If I’m wearing a sweater or second layer, a white crew neck that sits high on my collar bone is always a must. It just looks so much better.
Enter this Gap t-shirt and this one. It has that high neck and relaxed fit that I love, and the fabric is really light and soft— the feel is more luxurious than my more casual cotton ones. You will almost always see me in one of these with a pair of white pants on any given day.
As someone who used to really pride themselves on having a very different fit every day, and sometimes I still do, I have accepted that my favorite go-to is a white t-shirt and a white pant. It is the ultimate canvas for all my jackets, shoes, handbags, and sunglasses, and are basically sweatpants for me.
If I’m going to the gym I’m usually wearing these (pictured above). I really struggle with leggings and walking around in them. I’ve been talking about this since 2020, but I think working out in more “regular” fabrics over spandex is going to become the new normal / trend. PDP is anchored around this idea (IYKYK).
For my more formal, I can’t be in sweatpants go-to, I love these jeans. I size up to get a looser, more low waist look. They are slouchy and really comfortable, but with more shape and less sloppy looking. They’re perfect to elevate with a slingback. If I feel like I need something even more put together, these ones are it.
There’s honestly so many good things at Gap right now. I love this sweatshirt and I wore these pants this past weekend and am obsessed with the way they fit. Honorable mention also goes to their button downs (check the men’s section). This is the one tied around my waist above.
Ok bye for now!
