On my mind and in my cart, April/May 24
Actually good fashion campaigns, what makes good marketing (and branding) good, lots of shopping links,
Incase you missed it, and since the last time you’ve received this newsletter, I was featured on Vogue and in HURS newsletter which you can read here and here. I feel like there is something else I did that I am forgetting about right now but anyway—
If you aren’t familiar with HURS it is really, really great. I had seen it around but admittedly never checked it out until Bonnie, the founder, reached out to me. I poked around and was pleasantly surprised. It is the first fashion media site I’ve truly enjoyed since the good ol Man Repeller days. Meeting Bonnie for a coffee IRL a few weeks later was the cherry on top. I am always so energized when I meet cool, like-minded people who are really going after it. HURS has some cool things in the works launching later this year so would definitely follow along to stay updated with what they’re (she’s) up to.
Because I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my career, this The Cutting Room Floor episode I did goes over a lot of my career path so far. For anyone interested in the fashion industry I cannot recommend every episode of TCR enough. I guarantee it’s money well invested and would even say just subscribe for a month to binge all the episodes.
For more context on me and my work, this episode I did with Helen from Helen’s Wines was fun! If you have any other career questions please leave them in the comments or send me a direct message and I’ll do a round up post with answers.
Today’s a long one. I’m still trying to figure out my format and how to be more consistent with this, but here we go (and thank you for your patience while I figure my shit out).
In my cart,
I don’t know how I discovered Skarule but this image of their pink trench with crochet peeking below and the headscarf sold me. If I had a bigger closet and endless monies I would consider adding this whole look to my wardrobe. The pink trench would be so cute with greys and faded black in the transitional seasons but alas, endless monies and a closet that actually fits all my things I do not have. I did buy the headscarf because at 80 euros and with summer upon us I couldn’t not.
I cannot get enough of these Celine sunglasses. So much so that I just panic bought another pair because mine below broke this AM and it is unclear if they’ll be able to fix them. Shop them here (different color here).
I bought similar vintage Oliver Peoples (love the details on these so much) last summer inspired by Camille Rowe but they just weren’t right. The Celine ones are very right. I love that they’re a little buggy, a little sporty, and of course bonus points for being different than what most people seem to be wearing these days.
